Firefighters continue to tackle blaze for third day on Isle of Wight

Firefighters are continuing to battle a blaze at Headon Warren in the West Wight for third day in a row.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service received an emergency call at 9:12am Thursday morning reporting a gorse fire at Headon Warren.
In the latest update from 8am this morning, crews have been using a high volume pump that is being used to extract water from the sea to use at the incident.
Six fire crews remain on site to monitor hotspots and manage flare-ups using jets.
The ongoing fire involves a mix of gorse grass and trees. Despite significant efforts, firefighting teams continue to ask residents and visitors to steer clear of the area.
A coordinated response has seen firefighters from Newport, Cowes, Ventnor, Freshwater, Shanklin, East Cowes, and Ryde attend.
Mainland teams from Southsea, Lymington, Emsworth, Portchester, St Mary's, Hardley, Havant, and Hightown have also been involved, along with additional fire engines from Hampshire to cover further potential incidents on the island.
Efforts have been bolstered by helicopters conducting water-drops, which have helped extinguish smoldering areas inaccessible from the ground.
Various firefighting tactics, including water jets, hose reels, and specialist vehicles, have been employed to tackle the 25-hectare blaze.
The fire service is yet to confirm the cause of the fire.
