A man's been seriously hurt after a collision with a car at Upton - where the driver of a blue Volkswagen Polo failed to stop at the scene.

Dorset Police say they were called out to the A350 Upton bypass just after 10.30am on Sunday (29 March).

A pedestrian in his 40s was taken to hospital, seriously hurt, but his injuries and not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Police Sergeant Richard Stroud, of the Roads Policing Team, said: "We are carrying out enquiries into this collision and I am keen to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, as well as anyone who may have captured relevant dashcam footage.

" would also like to make a plea to the driver of the VW Polo to please do the right thing and come forward so we can take your account of what happened.”
