Shocking CCTV and dash cam footage shows a dangerous driver from Southampton narrowly missing oncoming traffic.

Callum Bryan Hickman, 26, of Princes Court, was disqualified and had no insurance when he got behind the wheel of a red Citroen C3 on 4 August 2024 on the Isle of Wight.

He was spotted by officers in an unmarked police car while driving along Fairlee Road in the direction of Newport High Street at about 11.20am that day.

Hickman failed to stop and then raced away at dangerous speeds - up to 90mph - leading to a short pursuit along Whippingham Road, Beatrice Avenue, and back towards Fairlee Road, where he went on the wrong side of the road and collided with several other vehicles.

Officers stood down the pursuit at this point due to the risk to the public, but Hickman continued to drive dangerously, driving the wrong way on the dual carriageway Medina Way and then going down the on slip towards River Way, where he crashed off the roundabout by Topps Tiles then fled on foot.

Hickman was sentenced to 14 months imprisonment for dangerous driving.
