Cowes Week regatta returns to the Isle of Wight for its 200th year!
The week long yacht racing regatta is back to celebrate its bicentenary
Hundreds of boats will be setting sail off the Isle of Wight from today - as the world famous Cowes Week returns.
The sailing week will celebrate its bicentenary in style with races running every day.
More than 600 boats are signed up to take part.
Grace Murray's part of the organising team and said: "It's just so different to the other regattas.
"It's huge, it's vast, it's fun and people love it.
"The community loves it, the sailors love it, the volunteers and spectators love it, and I don't think there is a regatta of this scale and the kind of breadth of people who come and enjoy it.
"We are the world's oldest and largest sailing regatta of its kind, and very proud to be."
Events will kick off today with Her Royal Highness, the Princess Royal, in attendance to visit the regatta, ahead of setting off the first cannon of the day on Sunday.
The seven days of yacht racing will showcase a range of classes of boat types from Grand Prix to IRC Class 1 and historical boats, too.
