Churches in Chandler's Ford are opening their doors to communities after a Halloween stabbing saw five teenage boys seriously injured.

Detectives remain at the scene of the stabbing with cordons in place as they continue their enquiries.

Duncan Hollands is the Vicar of the Parish of Chandler's Ford and at St. Boniface Church.

He said: "We were all saddened and shocked by the events of Saturday night.

"As a church, we are about the love of God, and we want to be here to love and support our community.

"We're doing that by opening up the church buildings and giving people a space to come and talk and reflect, pray if they want to, or light a candle in support of those who are suffering.

"We're also in touch with the headteachers at different schools, offering likewise, support to the staff and pupils there."

St. Boniface Church will be open from 9am until 5pm through the week, and St. Martin in the Wood will be available between Monday and Wednesday from 3pm until 5pm.

Officers say they're trying to identify an "unknown group" of individuals who attended the Halloween party where the boys were stabbed.

Police are urging anyone with information or footage to speak to them as they continue their investigation.
