Car debris found at scene of fatal M27 motorbike crash
A rider in his 60s died at the scene
Police investigating a fatal motorbike crash on the M27 say they've recovered debris from the scene, believed to be from a car.
Police were called at 6.39am on Friday 16 October to a report of a collision on the eastbound carriageway between junctions 11 and 12.
This involved a black and white Triumph motorcycle and the motorcyclist, a man in his 60s, was sadly confirmed deceased at the scene. His family have been told.
Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are continuing to establish exactly what happened and are exploring a number of lines of enquiry.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said:
"In particular, debris from the scene has been collected which is believed to be from a Mercedes GLA so we are asking for anyone with a vehicle of this type with front end damage to contact us if you were driving on the M27 around the time of the collision.
"As part of our ongoing investigation, we would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the events leading up to and including the collision.
"We would also like to speak to anyone with relevant dash cam footage, including from white coaches seen in the area at the time, travelling on both sides of the carriageway in the time leading up to the incident."
