Police seek witnesses to suspicious encounter on Isle of Wight involving schoolchildren

Police are asking for witnesses after receiving a report about a concerning incident involving a masked man and a group of secondary school pupils on the Isle of Wight.

The incident took place on Wellington Road in Newport between 8:25am and 8:45am on Friday, 13th March.

According to police reports, a man wearing a balaclava was seen making gestures towards the children from across the road.

No injuries were reported.

Witnesses and Information Needed

Ongoing by authorities, the investigation seeks assistance from anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area at that time.

The man involved in the incident is described as 25 to 35-years-old, standing between 6ft and 6ft 2in tall with an athletic build.

He has short brown hair and was wearing a balaclava, black gloves, a dark blue tracksuit, and carrying a black rucksack.
