Yeovil man jailed for more than seven years after drugs supply conviction
Andrew White sentenced after two drug warrants were executed in Yeovil
A 60-year-old man from Yeovil has been sentenced to seven years and four months in prison for drug offences.
Andrew White, from Sherborne Road, faced charges of being concerned in the supply of class A and class B drugs, including cocaine and cannabis.
He pleaded guilty and received his sentence at Taunton Crown Court, which was sitting at North Somerset Courthouse on Wednesday, 26th August.
Drug warrants in Yeovil
The court heard that on 31st July of last year, police officers carried out search warrants at two addresses in Yeovil.
The first was at White’s home, where they discovered cannabis and thousands of pounds in cash.
The second warrant was executed at 58-year-old Sally Robinson's home on St Georges Avenue.
There, officers found cannabis flowering heads hidden in three blue drums, blocks of cocaine, and a safe containing bags of cocaine.
Robinson also pleaded guilty to drug-related charges, specifically concerning class B drugs (cannabis), and received a community order at the court hearing on Friday, 14th August.
Keys found in White’s house were discovered to fit both Robinson's home's front door and the safe found there.
Investigation led by police
According to Detective Inspector Tim Seaman from the Serious and Organised Crime unit, the search warrants were part of a proactive investigation.
Seaman stated: “Drug use and distribution have a significant impact on our communities and the livelihoods of those who live in them.
“Anti-social behaviour, violence, and theft are just a handful of incidents which can be linked to drug misuse and drug dealing.”
Seaman emphasised the commitment to disrupting activities of criminals like White and Robinson who aim to supply drugs.
