Woman, in her 60s, dies after B3148 collision in Somerset

A woman in her 60s has died after the motorbike she was riding was involved a collision with a car in Somerset.

Emergency services were called to a collision on the B3148 Rimpton Hill involving a Honda motorcyclist and a black BMW 520d shortly before 3pm yesterday (26th April).

The motorcyclist - a woman in her 60s - died at the scene.

Police say her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by a specially trained officer.

Officers say it is understood the motorcyclist was travelling in the direction of the Dorset border at the time of the collision, with the car being driven towards Marston Magna.

The occupants of the BMW remained at the scene and assisted police with enquires.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or motorists who have not yet spoken to them to come forward.
