Witness appeal after police report man seriously assaulted in Yeovil

Police say a man has been seriously assaulted while walking in Yeovil, and officers are seeking witnesses and information to assist in the investigation.
The assault is reported to have happened between 11.50pm on Saturday 25th July and 12.05am on Sunday 26th July.
The victim was on his way from the St Michael’s Avenue area toward Hawthorn Road when attacked by an unknown individual.
The assault occurred somewhere along the route, which includes St John’s Road, St Michael’s Avenue, and Northbrook Road.
Following the attack, the victim suffered significant facial and head injuries, requiring hospital treatment.
He has since been discharged and is recovering.
Police have made extensive enquiries, including house-to-house visits and CCTV reviews, which are ongoing.
Anyone in the area during that time who saw anything suspicious, or who has relevant footage from CCTV, doorbells, or dashcams should contact the police.
