Two men arrested after motorcyclist dies in A358 crash

Police are appealing for witnesses

Two men have been arrested after a fatal crash involving a motorcyclist on the A358 in Somerset.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Mattocks Tree Hill in West Hatch at approximately 10.25pm on Sunday (29th March).

Police say a Nissan Juke and a Vauxhall Zafira, were both travelling south, at the time of the collision, with the motorbike being ridden in the opposite direction towards Thornfalcon.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, died at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed, and they are receiving support from a family liaison officer.

Two men, aged 40 and 68, have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

They remain in custody.

The A358 was closed following the collision but reopened around 3.30pm today (30th March).

Police are urging witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to contact them, quoting reference number 5226086442.
