Third arrest after serious assault in Burnham-on-Sea

Police have made another arrest after a three people were assaulted in Burnham-on-Sea yesterday (27 May).

A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent following the incident in Apex Park, in Marine Drive, at around 6.15am.

Avon and Somerset Police say one person remains in hospital for treatment while the other two victims have been discharged to recover at home.

A 22-year-old woman and 30-year-old man were arrested shortly after the incident was reported to police.

The three people arrested have now all been released on bail.

Police say they are not looking for anyone else in connection to the incident and it is still thought to be isolated.

The force added that the individuals were all know to each other and officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses to contact them.
