Two people suffer serious injuries in collision near Meare and Glastonbury
Avon and Somerset Police have closed the road while enquiries are ongoing
Two people have sustained serious injuries following a collision between a pedestrian and a motorcycle.
Officers were alerted to the incident taking place on the B3151 between the towns of Meare and Glastonbury just before 10am on Thursday (May 29th).
When officers arrived, they found that a pedestrian had been struck by a motorcycle, causing a serious crash.
In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police confirmed that emergency services were "at the scene" in minutes, sealing off the road for forensic investigations.
They added that both people involved in the crash are being taken hospital for treatment of their injuries.
According to the force, the road remains closed while enquiries into the crash are ongoing and have urged anyone needing to use the road to take another route while investigations are carried out.
