Somerset Council is advising residents in the Wells and North Mendip area there may be delays to recycling collections today (Tuesday 23 September) due to a range of operational issues.

The areas affected are in and around Wells, Westbury-sub-Mendip, Stratton-on-the-Fosse, Chilcompton, Priddy, Holcombe, Oakhill, Dulcote, Coleford and Draycott.

If residents’ recycling has not been collected, they are asked leave boxes and bags out and crews will return the next day – there’s no need to report it.

Crews will be working to try to make sure recycling is collected and will be working on Saturday if needed.

Somerset Council said residents should report it as missed if it’s been more than 24 hours and the recycling has not been collected.
