Clarks Village is on the hunt for a new CEO — Canine Executive Officer, and it's down to the public to decide who gets the job.

The Street shopping outlet held its annual Pawsome Pooch event, where more than 300 dogs turned up for free professional photoshoots, pampering sessions, agility demos and a doggy "pick 'n' mix" treat bar, all in the hope of landing the coveted CEO crown.

A panel of "pedigree" judges has now had the ruff job of narrowing hundreds of hopefuls down to a shortlist of just 10.

From here, it's over to the public to pick a winner.

The Shortlist are Buckley - mixed breed rescue, Enzo - Labrador Retriever, Figgy – Wire-haired Dachshund, Hiccup – Working Sheepdog, LiLou – Corgi, Lionel – German Shorthaired Pointer, Luna – Schnoodle, Milo – Cocker Spaniel, Nova – Mixed breed and Travis – Jack Russell.

Voting is open now on Clarks Village's Instagram and Facebook pages. Simply find the CEO shortlist post and leave a comment for your favourite pup.

The dog with the most combined comments across both platforms by the time voting closes on Sunday 27th September will be crowned Clarks Village's next Canine Executive Officer.

The winning pooch bags a prize package worth more than £500, including shopping and dining vouchers for Bill's and Prezzo Italian, plus treats and goodies from brands across the Village.

They'll also take over the top job from last year's reigning CEO, golden miniature dachshund Archie.

Clarks Village Centre Director Mike Jones said: "Pawsome Pooch is one of our favourite events of the year, where we celebrate all our dog guests with a line-up of fun, free, tail-wagging activities. At the heart of the event is our competition to become the outlet's Canine Executive Officer, who will become the furry face of Clarks Village. We were overwhelmed with how many wonderful dogs entered and can't wait to see who guests choose as their next CEO."

The Pawsome Pooch event also showcases Clarks Village's dog-friendly credentials all year round — think wide paved walkways, water bowls, landscaped gardens and a warm welcome for four-legged visitors.

The outlet has already won DogFriendly's award for the UK's Most Dog Friendly Shopping destination for two years running, and it's hoping to make it a hat-trick at this year's ceremony.

Head to Clarks Village's social channels and have your say before voting closes on Sunday 27th September.
