Saltmoor pump deployment exercise road closure
It'll be in place today and tomorrow
As part of preparations for Winter, the Environment Agency is carrying out a pump deployment exercise, at Saltmoor Pumping Station.
The Agency said: "This follows our review of last Winter's floods and is designed to improve how quickly, safely and efficiently we can deploy temporary pumps on the Somerset Levels and Moors, during severe flood events.
"There will be a road closure on West Yeo Road, outside Saltmoor Pumping Station, from 9am-3pm on:
• Wednesday 21 October
• Thursday 22 October
"All works are expected to be finished by the end of Friday 23 October.
"We're working to this timetable, but timings can change due to factors outside our control. If anything changes, we'll let you know as soon as we can.
"Thank you for your patience, while we carry out this important work."
