Police appeal after crash near Leigh
Officers investigate collision on Old Wells Road near Leigh on Mendip
Avon and Somerset Police are calling for witnesses and any dashcam footage following a collision involving a motorcycle and a car.
The crash happened on Old Wells Road near Leigh on Mendip, Somerset.
A woman in her forties, who was riding the motorcycle, was transported to hospital by air ambulance.
Her next of kin have been informed.
The incident was reported at 2pm yesterday (19/07) and involved a white motorbike and a grey car.
The occupants of the car did not need hospital treatment.
Officers have communicated with the driver, but no arrests have been made.
Investigations at the scene are ongoing, and Old Wells Road is currently closed at its junctions with Long Cross Bottom, Fental Lane, Tadhill Lane, and Blackers Lane.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
