One person taken to hospital after 'very serious medical emergency' at college in Taunton
Richard Huish school made the decision to close after the incident on site this morning
Emergency services were called to a college in Taunton this morning after a 'very serious medical emergency.'
Richard Huish College closed after the incident and two double-crewed land ambulances, an air ambulance, an operations officer and a critical car car were sent to the scene just before 9am.
South Western Ambulance Service said one person was transported by land ambulance to Musgrove Park Hospital.
Police say their next of kin have been informed.
Richard Huish College said in a statement: "As you may be aware that following a very serious medical emergency this morning onsite, we have made the decision to close the college.
"This has also meant that we have had to cancel this evening's performance of Dear Evan Hansen.
"This is not a decision we have taken lightly and we understand how disappointed people will be.
"We will issue full refunds as soon as possible."
