Frome Town has confirmed that Mike Baker will rejoin the club ahead of the next football season.

Baker, 31, had already enjoyed a stint at the club during the Robins' 2022-23 campaign, before leaving to join a number of small clubs around Somerset.

Now, the club has confirmed that Baker - who plays as a defender for the club - will be returning to Badgers Hill in time for the 2025 season.

The club, which currently competes in the Southern League Division One South, are still riding high after reaching the furthest they had even gone in the FA Trophy, making it to the third round of the tournament after beating Worthing 4-3 on penalties.

Now, the club are hoping to capitalise on their success by bringing Baker back for another year.

Speaking on the signing, manager Danny Greaves was thrilled to welcome Baker - known as 'Bakes' - back to the club: "I am ecstatic to be able to bring Bakes back to the club. Following the departure of Pierce, this is the perfect replacement.

"Bakes comes with all the experience you could ask for at this level and he is hungry to make up for lost time following his earlier spell which ended prematurely after his departure halfway through the 22-23 season, therefore missing out on the promotion the following season with us, which he was desperate for.

"He was outstanding when Tiverton came to us last season and was key to them winning that game. His aerial dominance, leadership and experience will be key to us and him achieving our joint goals next season."

Baker added himself: "I’m back and looking forward to playing for this amazing club once more. Let’s get back to where we belong!"

Baker is no stranger to being on the pitch in a Frome shirt, having made 36 appearances with the club, including scoring three goals during his career.
