Man dies after fire at flat in Wincanton

A man has died after a fire destroyed a flat in Wincanton early this morning (March 3rd).

Emergency Services were called to the scene at Fairfield Court at around 2:29am this morning.

Police say formal identification of the man is yet to take place but his family have been informed.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service say the flat was completely damaged by fire and there was water and smoke damage to another 3 flats.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
