Man, 58, charged following discovery of deceased individual

A 58-year-old man from Birmingham has been charged in connection with a murder investigation after another man was found dead in Weston-super-Mare.

Richard Woolley, 58, residing in Garratts Green Lane, Birmingham, faces one count of murder.

He is set to appear in North Somerset Magistrates’ Court today, 7th April.

The incident occurred on Saturday, 4th April, when ambulance services called the police to an address in Eagle Close, Weston-super-Mare.

There, a man was found dead.

The family of the deceased has been informed and remains in contact with law enforcement.

Ongoing Investigation

DI Alan Smith from the Avon and Somerset Police Major Crime Investigation Team confirmed that Woolley was known to the deceased and stated that no other individuals are being sought in relation to the case.

Smith emphasised that officers will maintain a presence in the area, urging anyone with concerns to approach them.

The investigation continues as officers work to gather all relevant information.
