Man in his 40s dies following fatal collision on A38 in Brent Knoll

Police appeal for witnesses as road remains closed while officers investigate

A man in his 40s has died following a collision involving a pedestrian and a white Vauxhall Astra on the A38 in Brent Knoll this morning (29 August).

Emergency services were alerted to the incident by the ambulance service at around 5.20am.

Despite the efforts of paramedics and other emergency responders, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed, and officers have expressed their condolences to his loved ones.

The driver of the Vauxhall Astra remained at the scene following the collision and is assisting police with their investigation.

The A38 is currently closed between the Fox and Goose pub and the B3140 roundabout as officers carry out a detailed examination of the scene.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have relevant dashcam footage or information, to come forward.
