Lorry driver remains in hospital after M5 crash

Police are continuing to investigate a crash on the M5

A lorry driver remains in hospital, in a serious condition, after a crash on the M5.

The force were called to the collision on Monday (13 January), to reports of a flat-bed lorry leaving the carriageway and colliding with trees.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.

They say it happened between junction 21 for Weston-Super-Mare and 22 for Burnham on Sea.

In a statement Avon and Somerset Police said: "Between 9.15-9.30am on (Monday 13 January), officers were called to the southbound carriageway between junction 21 (Weston-super-Mare) and 22 (Burnham-on-Sea) following a report of a flat-bed lorry leaving the carriageway and colliding with trees.

"The driver of the lorry remains in hospital in serious condition."
