Single-car accident in Hemington sees driver trapped in overturned vehicle

Emergency crews rescue trapped motorist near Frome

Emergency services were dispatched early on 6th June to Hemington after a report of a single-car accident that left one person trapped.

The incident occurred at around 7.03 am, with the vehicle overturning and coming to rest in a field near Kilmersdon close to Frome.

Fire crews from Frome and Radstock, mobilised following a request from local police, attended the scene to assist with rescue efforts.

Upon arrival, crews confirmed the vehicle had left the roadway, overturned, and settled on its side, necessitating stabilisation.

Working in coordination with ambulance personnel, the teams devised a plan to safely extricate the trapped individual.

By 8.30 am, the situation was controlled as personnel removed the car's windscreen, enabling the casualty to be guided out.

Once released, the individual was handed over to Ambulance staff.

The incident was officially closed at 8.41 am.
