Somerset Council will be carrying out drainage works on the A39 Quantock Road, Bridgwater next week. They will last from Monday 23rd of February to Friday 27th of February.

The council says the works are to increase capacity of the drainage at this location and help to drain surface water on the carriageway, making it safer for drivers.

Two-way temporary lights will be put in place while the work takes place across the 30-metre stretch of road. To minimise disruption, the lights will be controlled manually from 7am-6.30pm. The scheme will be advertised in advance through signs at the side of the road.

Somerset Council’s Lead Member for Transport and Waste Services, Councillor Richard Wilkins said: “Our team will do their best to get the work completed as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drainage work is essential to make sure that surface water can drain away.

“We are extremely grateful to residents and motorists for their support and understanding while this work is done.”
