Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following assault in Taunton
A man in his mid-30's is currently in police custody.
Police have arrested a man on suspicion of murder following an assault in Taunton this morning.
Officers were called by the ambulance service to Castle Street, Taunton, at 6.35am. A man in his mid-30s was taken to hospital with injuries which were initially considered life-threatening, however he has since been discharged.
A man, also in his mid-30s, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and currently remains in police custody.
A police guard remains in place at the scene while investigations continue. Officers believe the incident involved individuals who are known to each other and so do not believe there is any wider risk to the public.
