Man in his 80s injured in Glastonbury crash
Police seek help following collision on A39
Police in Glastonbury are seeking help from the public following a road traffic crash involving a man in his early 80s.
The incident occurred at around 10:30am on Sunday, 26th April, when the man was driving a black Hyundai Kona along the A39 Street Road.
The vehicle exited the carriageway and collided with a fence and lamppost.
The fire service rescued the man from his Hyundai, and he was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
He has since been discharged and is recovering at home.
Investigations suggest a silver Ford Focus may have played a part in the crash by pulling into the path of the Hyundai, though the driver reportedly left the scene without realising the collision had occurred.
Police are calling on witnesses, or anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage from the time of the crash, to come forward to aid their investigation.
PC Joe Storey, the officer in charge of the case, said the man involved has made significant progress since the incident.
"We understand the driver of a silver Ford Focus was in the area at the time," PC Storey said.
"We appeal to them to come forward with any information which could assist our enquiries."
