Four arrested after firearms incident in Frome

Police have arrested four people, after a firearms incident in Frome.

At 3.06pm yesterday (24 July), officers received a report that a man had been seen in possession of a suspected firearm in Christchurch Street East a short while earlier.

Armed officers were deployed, supported by a National Police Air Service helicopter and arrested four men nearby.

Three were de-arrested a short while later, while the fourth remains in police custody.

No weapon was located in a subsequent search of a property and nobody has been injured.

The police investigation is continuing.
