Fire crews tackled a large blaze at Animal Farm Adventure Park in Berrow yesterday afternoon (18 November), after a building was reported alight.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue were called at around 3.37pm to reports of a fire in a building at the site, near Burnham-on-Sea.

Four appliances from Bridgwater, Burnham-on-Sea and Cheddar fire stations were sent to the scene.

On arrival, crews found a building measuring 30m x 50m well alight.

Firefighters used two hose reel jets, two main jets and breathing apparatus to bring the fire under control and extinguish it.

Two additional appliances from Avon Fire and Rescue Service also attended to support the operation.

The building was completely destroyed by the fire but the cause is not believed to be deliberate.
