Fire crews have tackled a large blaze at a commercial unit in Highbridge.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said they received multiple 999 calls just after 8: 50am this morning (18th may) about the fire on Bristol Road.

A spokesperson said the building was "well alight" when crews arrived and seven fire crews and an aerial ladder platform worked to extinguish the fire.

They added that the building consisted of 8 industrial units with one 100% destroyed by the fire and 2 others 50% damaged by smoke.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
