Firefighters have been tackling a blaze involving 200 tonnes of wood and woodchip in Taunton.

Crews were first called to the scene just off the A358 at around midnight and remain there this morning. Two engines remain on site as the fire service say the incident is still ongoing.

The fire generated a large amount of smoke in the area and residents have been advised to keep their windows and doors closed for the remainder of the day.

The fire crews have been working with onsite staff to ensure that the unaffected wood chip has been removed.
