Three crews tackle fire in Chard

Nearby residents are being asked to keep windows and doors shut

Emergency services received multiple calls at around 12:40pm on Thursday (2nd January) to reports of a fire in Chard.

Three fire engines were sent to an industrial outbuilding to tackle a blaze on Furnham Road.

In a statement, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "The fire is creating a large amount of smoke, so we are advising people living nearby to keep your windows and doors closed until we have extinguished the fire."
