Women helping shape the future of aerospace, aviation and space technology will take centre stage in Yeovil next week as AeroWomen returns for its sixth year.

The annual event, organised by trainees at Leonardo UK, will bring together industry professionals, students and aspiring engineers for a day of talks, workshops and networking focused on the future of the sector.

This year's theme is "The future of aerospace and the role women play in shaping it", with discussions covering developments in the space sector, the Global Combat Air Programme and career opportunities across the industry.

The event will feature guest speakers from across aerospace and space innovation, including women working on satellite technology and other emerging technologies that are helping transform fields such as climate science, healthcare and environmental monitoring. According to organisers, the aim is to showcase the wide range of careers available within aerospace and encourage more women to consider roles in the sector.

A new addition for 2026 is a technology fair, where attendees will be able to see projects from universities and industry, including work linked to next-generation aircraft programmes. Organisers say the exhibition will give visitors a chance to engage with cutting-edge technology and explore the future of aerospace in practice.

AeroWomen was launched to inspire women already working in aerospace as well as those still in education. While the event celebrates the achievements of women in the industry, organisers say it is open to anyone with an interest in aerospace and its future.

The event takes place in Yeovil on June 8.
