Car hits electricity pole in West Pennard as driver taken to hospital
Emergency services work together in the early hours following a road accident
Emergency services attended a road traffic accident in West Pennard where a car had collided with an electricity pole and veered off the road in the early hours of 19th March 2026.
The incident was reported at 3.54am, with fire crews from the Glastonbury station arriving on the scene.
Police and ambulance paramedics also attended the site, working alongside fire crews to rescue the female driver, who remained inside the vehicle.
Crew members utilised small tools and manual techniques to carefully extract the casualty from the car.
The electricity board was called upon to secure the pole, which had been impacted in the crash.
Following assistance on-site, the injured driver was taken to hospital.
The incident was recorded as closed by 7.09am.
