Burglars jailed after Yeovil doorbell camera captures theft
They stole two electronic games consoles, cash, and various other items, which were not recovered
Two men have been sentenced to prison after being caught on a doorbell camera stealing electrical items and cash from a home in Yeovil.
Wayne Shortland, 43, from Yeovil, and Lewis Coombes, 38, from Castle Cary, committed the burglary on South Street, Yeovil, in the early hours of 22nd March.
They stole two electronic games consoles, cash, and various other items, which were not recovered.
Sentencing Details
Lewis Coombes was apprehended several hours after the burglary. He was subsequently charged and remanded in custody before appearing at Taunton Crown Court on 22nd May.
He pleaded guilty and received a 36-month prison sentence for burglary, theft, assault, and breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) and a suspended sentence.
Wayne Shortland was arrested on the evening of 29th April.
He was charged with the burglary, theft from a motor vehicle, and four separate shop thefts.
Following his remand into custody, Shortland appeared at Taunton Crown Court on 10th July, where he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years and six months in prison.
