Broadbury Road Police Station has been partially evacuated following the discovery of a suspected hand grenade handed in by a member of the public.

The object was brought to the station at approximately 3.40pm on Friday, 13th February.

As a precautionary measure, Broadbury Road has been closed, and a cordon set up outside the station, though no homes in the area have been evacuated.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit is scheduled to attend and ensure the safety of the item.
