Man hospitalised following serious road collision near Bridgwater

A man has been taken to hospital following a serious road collision taking place over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Officers from the South West Ambulance Service were alerted to an incident that had taken place near Bridgwater on Friday afternoon (May 23rd).

Responders arrived at the scene just after the incident took place before 2:15pm and found a man that needed immediate medical attention.

First-aid responders and paramedics in an ambulance were sent to deal with the crash, as well as a "rapid response vehicle".

According to the force, the man was freed from his car and was taken to hospital a short time afterwards.

He was taken to the local Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton a short time later, where he currently remains - though his condition remains unknown.

Avon and Somerset Police has been contacted for comment following the incident.
