Police are appealing to the public for help in identifying a man captured on CCTV who may have vital information about a reported assault at a city centre pub.

The incident occurred at Flan O’Briens Pub on Westgate Street at approximately 12.30am on Thursday, 15 May, where a man was assaulted, sustaining bite marks to his ear, bruising and a cut lip.

The victim was taken to Royal United Hospitals Bath, where he received treatment, including an injection to protect against hepatitis.

Investigators have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident. He is described as white, in his late 20s to early 30s, with short light brown hair, a beard, and was wearing a white T-shirt, a leather bomber jacket, and blue jeans at the time.

Police urge anyone who recognises the man or has information that may assist with the investigation to come forward.
