Resource published to help women with autism
Autism manifests differently in women compared to men
A group supporting women across Salisbury has published a new resource pack to allow women with autism be better understood.
Taking off the Mark - Revealing Autistic Women has been created by Soroptimist International Salisbury (SIS) aims to use the lived experiences of women to educate friends, family and others wanting to communicate effectively with women on the spectrum.
The illustrations in the pack have been created by an SIS member.
SIS says autism is under diagnosed among women and it presents itself differently than in men.
Relevant organisations will have printed copies of the pack delivered to them in the coming weeks, but we can download it here.
The project has been supported by Wiltshire Council.
