Woman rescued after falling seven feet down pub cellar
"I’m just so grateful she is OK, as she means everything to me"
A rescue mission saw a rope team being called out to The New Inn in Amesbury - after a woman fell seven feet down the cellar.
We're told she's been left 'battered and bruised', but otherwise was left relatively unscathed.
The team at the pub have praised the South Western Ambulance Service, Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue, the Hampshire Technical Rope Rescue Team, and the staff at Salisbury District Hospital who were all involved in the dramatic operation.
Nate on social media called it a 'really scary day'.
Nate, from the team at The New Inn, said: "I just wanted to let everyone know that Jema is OK. She’s battered and bruised, with a potential chest fracture, but thankfully no broken bones elsewhere and her scans are clear.
"For those who don’t know, she had a horrific fall into our cellar, which we had opened up ready for the glass floor installation.
"A huge thank you to South Western Ambulance, Dorset & Wiltshire Fire, the Hampshire Technical Rope Rescue Team, and the amazing staff at A&E SDH. An extra special thank you to Des Young, who got there before anyone else—despite now being retired from the NHS—showing up as both a civilian and a true friend.
"I’m just so grateful she is OK, as she means everything to me.
"Jema is resting up now, and we can’t thank you all enough for your concern and kind wishes."
