A woman's been banned from getting behind the wheel for a year, after being caught drink driving in Salisbury.

24 year old Charlotte Guest, from Avenue Road in Gosport, was spotted by officers swerving over the centre line, and hitting a curb on the A36 Southampton Road, in February this year.

A roadside breath test by police found she was twice over the drink drive limit, and she was arrested.

Guest appeared in court today (Thursday 8th May) and admitted drink driving.

As well as the ban, she's been fined £120 and ordered to pay £88 in surcharges and costs

PC Kinsey from Salisbury Police said: “We have a zero tolerance towards drink or drug driving.

“Drink or drug driving is one of the ‘fatal 5’ offences, the leading contributors towards serious road traffic collisions alongside speeding, not wearing a seatbelt, using a mobile phone while driving and careless driving.

“Guest’s actions were dangerous, putting not only herself but other road users in danger.

“With the help of the public, we can get more drink drivers off the road."
