A Wiltshire MP is urging us to be responsible with how we use water amid another heat wave.

Temperatures across Wiltshire are predicted to go beyond 30 degrees today (12/8), with water supplier, Wessex Water saying it's water levels are below average.

The call for sensible use of water comes from Melksham and Devizes MP, Brian Mathew, who says he will remain in touch with the water company.

We're being asked to do our bit to ensure there's enough supply for everyone, by making a few small changes, including:

• Take shorter showers

• Use your washing machine and dishwasher only when full

• Check for hidden leaks around your property

• Let your lawn go brown. As soon as the rain returns it will go back to normal

Wessex Water said in a post on social media: "We’re continuing to work hard behind the scenes to keep water flowing, upgrading infrastructure, and fixing leaks – trailing new technology and prioritising the most urgent leaks that are typically deep underground."
