Police in Amesbury are reminding us to ensure our cars are roadworthy for winter conditions.

It follows officers carrying out speed checks in Tidworth, where they also stopped vehicles to check for defects such as faulty lights, incorrect number plates and worn tyres.

Two drivers were caught speeding, with one clocked at 53mph in a 30mph zone.

The driver of that vehicle was also reported for having no tax and window tint that exceeds the legal limit.

We're being urged to check lights and tyres are prepared for winter driving.
