A webinar is to be held next month for prospective candidates ahead of Wiltshire's local elections in May.

The information is to be given out in a webinar on Tuesday 11th February at 6pm.

It gives anyone considering standing for election and their representatives a chance to from the Council's election team, including the Returning Officer.

People living in Wiltshire will go to the polls on 1st May, providing the Wiltshire area doesn't get chosen for the first phase of devolution plans, which could result in Wiltshire, Dorset and Somerset having a Wessex region Mayor.

Returning Officer for Wiltshire, Lucy Townsend said:

"This will be a useful session for all those considering standing for election this year. We'll have people on hand to answer questions and talk through the nomination process and everything to consider so that the election is as smooth an experience as possible for everyone involved.

"We want to give people insight into the role of a local councillor and also make the nomination process as smooth as it can be so keen to provide as much guidance as possible.

"We want Wiltshire to be a strong democratic county, so I encourage as many prospective candidates and agents to sign up as possible and we look forward to speaking with them.
