Over £1.8 million going into boosting Wiltshire local economy
The Council's allocated money from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund
A total of £1,875,033 is be to spent by Wiltshire Council on schemes aimed at boosting the local economy.
The authority's allocated money from the Government's UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) over the next financial year (2025-26).
The funding here will go towards tackling fuel poverty, investing in growing Wiltshire’s businesses, support for rural hubs, community projects, promoting social inclusion and helping people into work.
UKSPF was introduced in 2016 to replace European Union funding, with an aim to promote local growth.
Cllr Richard Clewer, Leader of Wiltshire Council and Cabinet Member for Economic Development, said:
“I’m pleased that Cabinet has approved this investment plan, which will help to support a range of projects, building on our successful programmes to help people in Wiltshire back into work and to tackle fuel poverty.
“We will also continue to invest in our successful Business Fit for the Future to help the county’s businesses to thrive and support them to reduce their carbon emissions.
“We have a clear focus on enhancing opportunities for people and businesses in Wiltshire and we have carefully prioritised initiatives that will bring the most benefit to our communities, based on evidence of need and the successful delivery of our previous projects."
