A Warminster man is to appear in court after being charged with racially aggravated assault of a police officer in Salisbury.

39 year old Edward Earle will face the charges at Salisbury Magistrates Court after an incident last July.

Mr Earle, of Osprey Road, has been charged with section 5 public order, section 4A racially aggravated public order and assault on an emergency worker.

It relates to an incident outside Chick-O-Land on New Canal.

He'll appear in court on 25th April.

Investigating officer PC Taylor said: “I am glad that the Crown Prosecution Service takes public order offences and assaults on police officers seriously.

“We do not tolerate assaults on our police officers when they are going about their normal duties.”
