Teenage boy seriously injured after dog attack in Potterne

A 14-year-old boy has been seriously injured after being attacked by two dogs in Potterne.
Wiltshire Police say the incident occurred at around 9.30pm on 9th April, when the dogs, having escaped from their property in Ryeleaze, attacked the teenager.
Emergency services swiftly responded, and the dogs were captured and removed from the scene.
The boy was hospitalised for his injuries, although they are not believed to be life-changing.
The dog owner has been identified and will undergo an interview related to the incident.
The breed of the dogs remains unknown as investigations continue.
Devizes Neighbourhood Inspector Simon Garrett commented on the situation, acknowledging the distress it has caused for the victim and local community.
Garrett confirmed that the dogs are now in secure kennels and reassured residents of heightened police presence in the area for their peace of mind.
He urged anyone with information or concerns to approach the officers.
