Swindon man jailed for over 30 crimes including theft and assault
David Mundy admitted 31 offences after targeting shops across the town
A Swindon shoplifter has been jailed for 16 months after admitting 31 crimes including theft and assault.
David Mundy, a 36-year-old from Farndale Close, was sentenced at Swindon Magistrates' Court on 8th January after pleading guilty to a range of charges.
These included 15 counts of theft, 15 breaches of a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO), one attempted theft, and one assault.
The offences were committed between 12th December and 9th January at various shops across Swindon, including Tesco, Morrisons, and Co-Op.
One notable incident took place on Christmas Day, when Mundy stole a stand full of chocolate worth £75.
The CBO, granted in November, was designed to prevent Mundy from repeating offences, but he breached it 15 times during the spate of crimes.
