A Wiltshire School is celebrating the GCSE achievements of it's Year 11 pupils.

Stonehenge School has seen 65% of students gain the key grades they needed in English and Maths, meaning pupils can progress to the next phase of their education.

The school has also marked improved performances in History, Geography and Spanish, as well as in vocational topics like Child Development, Health and Social Care and Sports.

Headteacher Carole Dean says she's "incredibly proud" of both her staff and the pupils.

She said: "These results are a testament not only to the talent, commitment and perseverance of our pupils, but also to the dedication and expertise of our teachers.

"Our Year 11s began their secondary education during a period of disruption, yet they have shown extraordinary resilience, maturity, and strength of character. They have been much more than just exam candidates – they have been role models, leaders, and valued members of our school community. They will be deeply missed.”

The students, who saw their start to life at Secondary School disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, have been hailed for exceeding expectations, with results reflecting their determination and hard work to succeed.

Mrs Dean added: “These results give our students an excellent platform for the future – whether they are moving on to sixth form, college, apprenticeships, or training. We know they will continue to strive for excellence and exceed expectations.”
