Stars Appeal gains record amount from bookshop and bucket collections
2024 figures have been shared by Salisbury District Hospital's charity
A record-breaking amount's been raised at Salisbury District Hospital, through bucket collections and sales at the Stars Appeal bookshop, during 2024.
Volunteers have brought £67,336 in for the charity, which funds equipment and services over and above what the NHS is able to provide.
The bookshop, in the hospital's main entrance, raised £48,619 itself, with the remaining £18,717 collected in change put into buckets in the foyer.
The 2024 is around £5,000 more than during 2023.
Helena Sinclair, of the Stars Appeal, Salisbury Hospital’s Charity, said:
"This is an incredible achievement for our wonderful bookshop and bucket collection volunteers. We are hugely grateful for the time and dedication they give to supporting the charity. We want to say a massive thank you to our volunteers and to everyone who supports the bookshop and bucket collections, for making a difference to thousands of patients, their families, and staff at Salisbury Hospital.”
Money raised for the Stars Appeal helps goes towards projects including emergency patient clothing and toiletries, hospital chaplaincy, support for patients with cancer and the Stars Appeal Play Assistant on Sarum Children’s Ward.
